Habitat for Humanity
is an ecumenical housing ministry that enables lower income individuals
and families to be homeowners, doing so by bringing together the good
will of literally hundreds of thousands of people who believe that no
one should live in substandard housing. Many in such
circumstances are caught in a cycle of poverty and feel hopeless that
they will ever break out of this vicious circle.
But some refuse to
give in believing that one day they can experience a measure of success
that comes with homeownership. Habitat works with
these individuals and families offering hope by working in partnership to help them help themselves by building together simple,
decent, affordable houses. The ReStore plays an important part in
funding this ministry.
The Habitat for
Humanity-Lima ReStore was opened on June 4, 2008 and is one of 25
ReStores in Ohio and 500 throughout Canada and the United States.
Each ReStore is independently operated by the Habitat for Humanity
affiliate serving that community. For a complete listing of
ReStores in Ohio click this link
http://www.habitatforhumanityofohio.org/ and click the ReStore link
in the Quick Menu on that page. For listing of Restores in the United States, click this link:

ReStore
accepts donations of new, or gently used saleable items for the
home--from building materials to appliances to light fixtures to paint
and a whole lot more. Our inventory includes
cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, doors, lumber, flooring, and
windows – all sold at a discount of 50-75% off the retail price.
As you navigate these ReStore pages you will see pictures taken in the ReStore in recent weeks. What you see in these pictures may still be available in the store or, it may not. The inventory in the store depends on the generosity of donors and the interests of the custmers. Some items can be restocked while others are once in and gone and when sold. If you see something that you would like to purchase you may want to call the ReStore Staff at (419) 222-4257 to see if it is still available. On the other hand, a visit to the ReStore is never a wasted trip. You may find a treasure that you would never find elsewhere!
The
three "r's' of the ReStore are reduce, reuse,
recyle. At the
ReStore, we’re raising money to build homes, helping the environment by
keeping stuff out of landfills and making low-cost materials available
to those who otherwise may not be able to afford them. Everyone Wins!
