Habitat Committees and Responsibilities

Family Selection Recruits partner families.  Processes and reviews applications and recommends partner families to the Board.
Family Nurture Educates the families in basic home ownership skills.  Teaches budgeting, basic home repair, and home upkeep.
Site Selection/ Development Researches neighborhoods and future building sites to help Habitat home building proceed in an orderly manner.
Construction Coordinates the building of Habitat homes.  Works with suppliers, trades people and partner families to build or renovate homes.
Board/Committee Development Recruits and educates individuals interested in Board leadership positions.  Submits all candidates to the Board for consideration and/or approval.
Finance and Budget Coordinates the development of yearly affiliate budget.  Also works to develop a budget picture for current Habitat homes.  Identifies budgetary or financial constraints that impede the building process.
Church Relations and Fundraising Builds covenants with local churches to help others become servants.   Develops and spreads fundraising opportunities throughout Lima and surrounding communities.
Publicity and Public Relations Speaks with churches, civic and business groups to spread Habitat's message. Writes press releases and works with local media contacts to spread Habitat's message.
Volunteer Provides coordination and scheduling of volunteers for home building and committee assignments.
